SALUS
The Salus Clinic is a private facility accredited with the Regional Health Service that provides both outpatient and inpatient healthcare services for medical, surgical and specialist pathologies. Conceived by its founder Dr. Ottaviano Danelon as a comfortable and technologically advanced health care facility, the Salus opened in 1961. Expanded over time with the acquisition of new premises for outpatient and blood testing activities (Studio Biomedico), the Salus includes two adjoining buildings in the heart of Trieste's San Vito neighbourhood. The recently renovated facility has 74 beds for admissions in various specialties (Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Plastic/Aesthetic Surgery, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Otorhinolaryngology, Urology), three operating theatres, an in-house laboratory and diagnostic imaging service, as well as numerous outpatient clinics in various medical fields. All the technological and surgical equipment is state-of-the-art and constantly renewed. The main building has seven floors and the in-patient rooms, all air-conditioned and with independent toilets, telephone and free wi-fi, are two-bed (single rooms are available upon request and for a fee).
Every year there is an average of 400 medical admissions and over 3,700 surgeries in the various fields. The laboratory performs almost 1,000,000 haematochemical examinations per year, while around 14,000 radiological services (of which 4,000 MRI and 4,400 CT scans) and 40,000 specialist outpatient visits and services are performed.
PINETA DEL CARSO
The Pineta del Carso Clinic is a private facility accredited with the Regional Health Service where healthcare services are provided both on an in-patient basis in the field of pulmonary, cardiological and neuromotor rehabilitation, hospice and assistance to the severely disabled, and on an out-patient basis in various specialities.
Started in 1933 as a sanatorium for the treatment of pulmonary tubercular diseases, taking advantage of the characteristics of the microclimate and the location of the facility between the pine forest and a large park-garden, Pineta del Carso has made the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases its flagship activity even after the progressive regression of cases of pulmonary TB. In 1963, the pneumology department was established, which is still the most important regional reference point for the treatment of respiratory deficiencies. In 1988, the Neuromotor Rehabilitation Unit with advanced equipment and a large indoor swimming pool was opened, which was later expanded to include the Cardiovascular and Respiratory Rehabilitation Units. Since 1998, the Treatment Centre has also had a Hospice, the first facility in Friuli Venezia-Giulia for the care and treatment of terminal oncological patients, to which it has also added, since 2001, a residential unit for the care and rehabilitation of patients with severe disabilities.
The Clinic consists of three buildings ("A - B", "C" and "Villa Nemec") encompassing an area of 40,000 square metres surrounded by a vast 7,000 square metre pine forest and various gardens available to in-patients. It is divided into four in-patient areas with rooms for 1 to 4 patients, one third of which have their own bathroom in addition to the shared facilities.
Approximately 1,700 people are admitted annually; the Neuromotor Rehabilitation Unit alone admits more than 800 people a year, while outpatient rehabilitation services in agreement with the SSR are around 40,000, a figure that is constantly increasing.
STUDIO BIOMEDICO
Studio Biomedico is the name of a group of outpatient clinics with facilities in Trieste and its province and in the Isonzo area. The outpatient clinics serve as medical testing points and offer private and Regional Health Service treatments involving numerous medical specialities.
PINETA CITY
Pineta City is an outpatient clinic based at the Torri d'Europa in Trieste, focusing on the synergy between medicine, sport, rehabilitation and wellness. From physiotherapy to medical fitness, from nutrition to sports medicine, Pineta City is able to meet the needs of the sportsperson (and not only) with tailor-made treatment plans. Combining experience, state-of-the-art therapies and qualified staff working in synergy, it is able to offer a complete and customised service. Approximately 100,000 medical services are performed every year.
IGEA
Igea is a Residential Care Facility in Trieste with a total of 84 beds, of which 50 are allocated to basic care, 2 to intermediate care, and 32 to extensive rehabilitation.
FRIULMEDICA
Friulmedica is an outpatient medical facility providing services in numerous accredited specialties within the Regional Health Service. Its key areas include radiology, ophthalmic surgery and the clinical laboratory. The facility operates across two locations: the Codroipo site, accredited with the Regional Health Service and located in the province of Udine, and a second site in San Vito al Tagliamento, in the province of Pordenone, dedicated exclusively to private outpatient services.
CARNIA SALUS
Carnia Salus is an outpatient medical facility accredited with the Regional Health Service across several specialties, the most significant of which is ophthalmic surgery.
